Remortgaging

If you have decided to remortgage your property, either to take advantage of a better mortgage deal or to release equity, the residential property team at Mooney Everett Solicitors in Ormskirk, West Lancashire, can help.

Perhaps you want to make home improvements, go on the holiday of a lifetime or you may be switching lender to take advantage of a better interest rate. Whatever your reasons, our friendly local solicitors will make remortgaging as efficient as possible.

Our experienced property lawyers will review the terms of your existing mortgage and help you to understand the cost implications, including any early redemption charges. If you are changing lender, you may need further advice on the new terms and conditions. We will then guide you through the remortgaging process, taking care of all paperwork and legal checks.

Timescales

For a property remortgage without any complications, it usually takes around eight weeks to complete the process.

However, delays can arise from a number of circumstances outside our control, such as:

  • problems with mortgage lenders;
  • other transactions along the chain;
  • missing deeds and documents; or
  • problems with planning permissions, boundaries or historic rights of access.

Please let us know if you have a deadline, and we will do our very best to meet it.
